Mortal Instruments book #4

Who has power in your text?
In the book City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare the people with the most power are the Clave. A group of elite shadow hunter government that make sure their people abide by their ancient laws. In the book the Clave is very strict and wrong in what they do and how they go about keeping their people in order.

In the book the Clave has one person called the Inquisitor who acts as a judge and questions people the Clave believe are lying. There have been 2 Inquisitors we've met through the book series and BOTH of the Inquisitors has been biased and followed their own rules and beliefs even if they are cruel. For example the first Inquisitor who is supposed to do her job strictly and efficiently, staying very businesslike, took the main character Jace on her own account and tortured him because she believed he was going to turn out as evil as his father Valentine who killed the Inquisitors son. The 2nd Inquisitor starved and tortured a vampire into telling the Clave he was the quilty one because he wanted the case to be closed and to have been the one to solve it.

I think this goes to show that the Clave is corrupt and falling apart, I think in the future the government will become a very big and leading issue in the book because of the evidence that the Clave does not work properly and has horrible mean workers.
